Suicide Squad is edited like a series of music videos, which make for a great trailer, but not a great movie. While the confusing title may mislead people to think it's a full-on reboot, The Suicide Squad (2021) is both a sequel to the original film and a soft reboot designed to correct the mistakes of Suicide Squad.

In January 2019, the film was officially titled The Suicide Squad and was scheduled for release on August 6, 2021. The title was suggested by Gunn as a joke, but executives at Warner Bros. liked it.

During the closing credits, Waller meets with Bruce Wayne in a restaurant. She asks him for protection in the aftermath of Enchantress's destruction, and in exchange, she hands him case files on Barry Allen (Flash) and Arthur Curry (Aquaman). A Darker, More Serious Tone

The tone of Ayer's Suicide Squad will arguably be the most significant difference between the possible new cut and what was shown in theaters. The theatrical cut of Suicide Squad featured a much lighter tone than he intended after the studio's reshoots.

DO YOU NEED TO WATCH SUICIDE SQUAD BEFORE THE SUICIDE SQUAD? Not at all. You'll have no trouble following The Suicide Squad if you've never seen the 2016 film. Many of the main characters in Suicide Squad, including Jared Leto's Joker and Will Smith's Deadshot, do not appear in this new movie.
