All Village of Khalim secret locations in Doom The Dark Ages

There are six secret area locations in Village of Khalim in Doom: The Dark Ages. There's also an additional codex you can collect as well! Here's an overview map of every secret location in Village of Khalim created by Map Genie - thank you for letting us use it.

Now let's get into the secret locations themselves:

Secret area location 1 - Life Sigil

The first secret location is found shortly after you've obtained the Power Gauntlet. After grabbing this weapon, continue forward and complete the quick Power Gauntlet tutorial. There will now be a burning building on your left.

Enter it and defeat the demons inside before finding a boarded-up door decorated with a blue shield icon to your left. Now all you have to do is block with your shield to cause a target to appear on the door before charging through. Congrats! You're now in the secret area and can collect a Life Sigil.

Secret area location 2 - Imp Toy

The next secret location is found after entering a church to defeat some cultists. Once the cultists are dead, you'll be able to collect a Blue Key for a corpse.

With that in-hand, charge through the boarded up wall in the church. Back outside, turn around and head down down an alleyway to find a locked blue gate on your right-hand side. (If you're having trouble finding it, then take a look at your map - there should be a little imp icon on there!)

With the gate found, all you have to do is open it to collect this secret - the Imp Toy.

Doom Slayer Codex location

You can easily find this secret after closing the first Demonic Portal. Starting at the giant statue, take the right-hand path past it and follow the road along to the hill on the right-hand side. You'll have to defeat a load of demons to close the Second Demonic Portal and across a bridge to reach it.

Once there, look to your right, you'll be able to see a climbable cliff wall and, by following it all the way to the top, you'll find the Doom Slayer Codex. It appears as a page icon on your map if you're having trouble finding it.

Sure, it's not technically a secret in itself, but, if you want to experience everything Dark Ages has to offer, you'll be wanting to collect this codex.

Secret area location 3 - Nightmare Combat Shotgun Skin

The easiest way to find this secret is - starting at the giant statue - go left to close the third Demonic Portal. With that done, follow the quest marker and enter the nearby tunnel. If this is your first time going through, you'll have to defeat a bunch of demons!

Once out, head to your right and you'll be able to see an entrance to a cave lit up by a single torch. Just about… To reach it, you'll have to run and jump across the cliff edge until you're safely at the cave's entrance. Try to keep an eye on the torch, so you know where you're going.

The secret icon sits at the back of the cave, but, when you approach, a barrier will appear. To dissolve it and get your secret, you'll need to defeat the Pinky Rider and two Imp Stalkers who appear. (Be careful with those red canisters - they explode. Learn from my mistakes.) Once they're dead, you'll be able to collect the Nightmare Combat Shotgun Skin. You can then leave the cave by using the nearby jump pad.

Secret area location 4 - Solider Toy

You'll find this secret after obtaining the Shredder. Simply defeat the demons who appear and then head to where you can look out over the sea. Just like the Welsh sea on a summer's day… Here you'll be able to jump off the cliff edge to a ledge down below. Though I recommend double checking your map before doing so or else you might get a little wet…

Once you've dropped down to the path below, you'll quickly find a small cave containing some useful items and this secret - the Solider Toy.

Secret area location 5 - Life Sigil

You'll actually spot this secret area quite early on as it isn't hidden at all. It's located beneath the statue outside of the village where you destroy the first Demonic Portal. There's even a glowing purple gate telling you exactly where it is! Though, if you want to access it, you'll need to find the Secret Key.

We recommend waiting until you've destroyed all four Demonic Portals, however, before opening this one. This is because the purple Secret Key is located quite close to what will most likely be your last portal. (The one near 'Secret area location 4'.)

To reach it, cross the bridge to the next hill from where the demonic portal once sat. Go around the right-hand side and you'll find the key. Now all you have to do is return to the statue and collect your secret area prize - a Life Sigil.

Secret area location 6 - Village of Khalim Codex

The last secret in the Village of Khalim is by far the easiest to find, but you'll have to wait till the final moments of Chapter One to collect it.

After defeating all of the demons on the beach, you'll reach an area containing a row of armor pickups. Straight away those pickups, look to your right to find a climbable wall. Turn left at this point to find a climbable wall. It's at the top of this wall you'll find the final secret area and the Village of Khalim Codex.
